This beautiful antique chest was once used as a travel trunk or cargo trunk for industrial items. It’s very large. We restored it carefully, removed the original paint and brought out the wood surface. It has now been turned into an attractive peace of furniture that also serves as storage space. Great for bedrooms, living rooms, restaurants, photo/film studios where props are used. There is plenty of space inside for anything from blankets to wine bottles and books/magazines. Great for using as a coffee table or serving drinks. Fits great in cottage/country syle homes where lots of stone, wood and other natural materials are used. Thoroughly cleaned and refinished. The chest has been completely stripped of the original paint and the surface has been treated to bring out the beautiful wood surface. We carefully inspected it and made sure the surface has been smoothed out and varnished while keeping the natural feel and surface bumps of the wood structure without splinters. The saturated brown color has been achieved by special wax that makes wood darker. However it is completely transparent and the wood structure and patterns are clearly visible. Natural look and feel. You can feel the warmth of the wood’s surface and its texture. We added a beautiful vintage tin sign that fits well with the table design. The hinges work and the chest opens and closes with no trouble at all. Great for storing anything from wine bottles to books and magazines. Comfortable handles on both sides allow for trouble-free moving anywhere in your home. All the metal framing has been painted black, they are not rusty and the paint used protects against rust. The trunk is in overall great condition. However, since this is a vintage/old item that has been redesigned, it can have small imperfections in the wood surface, nicks and tiny cracks. All signs of the years of usage it has gone through. They contribute to the overall character of this beautiful vintage piece of furniture.
