Art Deco era side’steps. Sublime original design features fully intact. Depth 19 inches / 48cm. Height when closed 19”/49cm and when opened/lid upright 33”-35”/ 88/100cm. Long length 36” / 92cm. Very, very heavy large trunk – Camphor Wood. Super interior a lighter wood shade internally, but equally as solid and gorgeous woodgrain/patina. The Front Mid”fastener” is splendid Ornate large brass mid-fastener & holder. Either side; left & right has inlaid carved deep designs Carving inlaid at the top is Superb. Either edge of the camphor trunk has inlaid carving Very stylish. Hinged with back mechanism. Antique condition is superb, the trunk oozes with character and class, with only minor cosmetic signs of it’s grand old age when examining all closely. When you push-up the large heavy, wood lid; there’s an interior solid metal mechanism on the LHS This holds/supports the lid for as long as you need the chest open. If needed closed; just shuts as any other antique chest does Perfect as a coffee table, etc. The shade of wood is darker in reality than the pix, very similar to pic 3.
