Collection from Inwardleigh, nr Okehampton or Bow, nr Crediton, Devon. This is for a lovely large and very substantial Antique Pine Trunk which is about 3′ 3 across. Beautiful flat top so makes a great coffee table but also ideal for general storage, as a blanket box, toy/dressing up chest, etc. In solid pine with p linth style base to all sides, large dovetail corner joints and large rope handles to each end secured by chunky wood blocks. Brass lock and keyhole surround – No Key. Lid opens on 2 large metal hinges and remains upright with retaining ridge to the back. Internally has candle tray to one end and painted paper lining. Marks and knocks as expected from age and use which if anything add to the charm of the piece. Some fraying to rope handles which are secure. Overall a beautiful trunk in good used condition. Just under 100cm x 53.5cm and 54cm high.
