This is a large pine chest, which is handmade and has been waxed to a lovely finish. It has good strong iron handles to each end. It has been made of pine boards and has had a material stay added to prevent the lid from falling backwards. It would make a good sized coffee table and there is plenty of room for storing books, shoes, boots, blankets, bedding, coats, toys or magazines. The chest does have signs of use and wear but nothing that detracts from its appearance. There is a slight gap to the wood above the hinge but it is sound. There are very minimal signs of historic woodworm, but it it is long gone and has been treated as a precaution. Measurements at the largest points.
