Impressive & Large Antique Ornately Hand Carved Oak Coffer Blanquette Box alternative use as Storage Chest Two front opening doors and perhaps Gothic in patterning & style. This is a very solid with hand carved frontage in great detail. With a large degree of patterning thus was clearly made for either a church or well heeled family. The joints reflect the handcrafted work of the late 1700s. It is indeed a three person lift if strong. As often seen this has had the top secured via the locking mechanism so that the two front doors open only. The top piece is clean with a deep aged patina. Well preserved and aged woodworking. It is estimated to be over 150 years old. The wear and life journey has been fair to this solid piece of furniture. As expected and perhaps proof of age small areas of Woodworm have had minor attempts and it has been treated thoroughly.
