This is a fabulous old large antique pine chest. It is handmade and has been waxed to a lovely finish. The chest has strong metal lifting handles to each end and trim to the top and bottom. It has great original penny hinges and a sound plank base. Inside there is a candle tray with a drawer underneath which has a white ceramic knob on it. The chest stands on nicely shaped mop feet and there is a brass key hole surround. The inside is very clean and ready to use. The chest would make a lovely stand alone piece of furniture, a large coffee table or window seat and there would be room for storing books, blankets, shoes, toys, magazines, or a myriad of other things. The chest does have signs of use and wear from its previous life. It has knocks and blemishes which add to its character. There is an indentation to the lid where the lock has been removed and shrinkage gaps to the base on the inside but it is sound. A different and unique chest in very good condition which dont come along very often. Measurements at the largest points. Please check the measurements to see it fits in your intended space. Collection only from near Bedale, North Yorkshire (10 mins from the A1) would be welcomed and can take place outside if preferred.
