It measures 29 3/4″ X 9″ X 7 1/2 overall and has been shellacked to protect and bring out the color of the wood. The shellacked surface is durable and makes the box nicer to use for storing all sorts of items. The exterior of the box has the original brass gusseted corners and original leather handle. The front features two latches. Inside of the box measures 28″ X 7 5/8″ X 6 1/4 and features a chain lid-catch to prevent the lid from damaging the hinges and conveniently hold the lid open.
